I had to get one with the girls...our crazy faces!

When I found out in February that I was headed to Nampa for another Classified managers meeting... I called mom to see if she wanted to make another road trip with me.  I have been fortunate to go to Boise for a few days the past 3 years for classified managers meetings and squeeze in some family time while I am there.  This year I was able to watch the end of the Bristol Nascar race with my Uncle Larry before heading to my new blog friends home to pick up some wood projects. Then it was off the Shane and Aimee's home for dinner with the family. I love spending time with them... I wish we lived closer so I could enjoy them so much more! Each one of the girls have so many talents and we were lucky enough to have each of them show us a few of them. After my meetings I headed back to meet my mom and Uncle Larry for lunch before we hit the road back home. I love my Boise family... maybe moving to Boise wouldn't be such a bad idea...???!!!

My Sweet Ride...

This is me the day I drove it off the Axtell car lot...
May 3, 2000
She had 10,400 miles on her... now she has....
Wow... who would have ever thought that my sweet ride purchased 5.3.2000 would make it to 150,000 miles! She had 10,400 miles when I bought her. I put lots of miles on her chasing back and forth from soccer... baseball and football games. Concerts... dates and Jazz games too! She took mom, Josh and I to see our awesome hairdresser in Salt Lake every 8 weeks...shopping at all our favorite stores between here and there. We were always able to fit it all in... once we almost had to tie Josh to the roof she was so full, but we made it. Josh learned to drive in my sweet ride and she drove him to the MTC when he left on his mission.  For 9 of those years she proudly displayed the Logan High Grizzlies logo in vinyl on her back window.  Everyone knew she was mine. I have to admit... I didn't put the majority of the miles on her... those came with daily trips to ATK for 6 years (because the gas mileage was better...not because he liked driving her). I re-gained full-time custody on 4.30.10.  She is having her issues... showing signs of aging.  Her back driver side window will just drop down for no apparent reason (she must think I need some cooling off...which can be super cold in the middle of winter), the blinker and cruise control sometimes will... sometimes won't work.  She needs a new ignition switch... which means I have to keep a key in her at all times (if not... the instrument panel won't work... the heat/AC won't work either).  It make for an interesting time with having to lock each and every door each and every time I get out of the car.  The driver side window doesn't roll down at all any more... which makes going through a drive through equally entertaining.  One night I came from home work and told Josh that she was making a terrible sound... we went for a drive and he instantly decided that she needs some power steering fluid... he filled her up and she's been quiet ever since! Josh has washed... vacuumed and checked under her hood and kept her in great shape! She and I have been through a lot... and I am sure we will continue to do so.  I have lots of great memories in my sweet ride.. 10 years worth!  My license plate holder used to day... Get in... set down... shut up and hold on!   When I first got her I used to say to my frequent fliers... "Thank you for flying Alero Airlines... please keep your arms and legs in the car at all times.  Fasten your seat belt and get ready for the ride"... thanks girlfriend... here is to another 150,000 more! Oh... just in case you are looking for that gray Alero with the Grizzly in the back... it's now a Dallas Cowboy star and logo... oh yeah... even sweet rides deserve a make over once in a while!

Happy V-Day 2011...

Josh and I celebrated Valentines on Sunday since he and Kendra were going to Salt Lake shopping on Valentines.  I woke up to this cute love note next to some beautiful potted tulips (I didn't get a picture of them... but they were pretty!) Valentines morning...

Happy V-Day 2011

Just wanted to show some appreciation for all you do, and will do in the future.  Every beautiful woman deserves flowers & shown love on this day. Have a good day. Call me around 9:30, thx.

Love, Josh

You did good son... you're always thoughtful... especially on holidays!

Then later that night.... this all happened...
The iPad box...
 Almost out...
My new toy!
Valentines Day this year was just like any other day.  Josh had taken Kendra to Salt Lake for the day shopping... so I came home and grabbed some dinner and headed to the studio to catch up on my blogs and Facebook.  One of my friends had posted that KUTV was going to be giving away an iPad on the 10 o'clock news... so I thought... what the heck... so I signed up.  About 10:10 I headed upstairs to catch up on some recorded TV shows when my cell phone rang.  It was a good friend calling to wish me Happy Valentines Day!  We were talking when my home phone rang... I told him I would have to call him back... my Aunt Peggy was calling and there must be something wrong.  I answered the phone and my aunt said... "did you register to win an iPad on Channel 2."  I said yes and she said... you just won... they just announced your name on the TV.  Vicki from Logan.  Wow... that's all I could say.  I couldn't believe it!  I had my iTouch sitting on the end table so I checked my e-mail... I was getting all kinds of posts to my Facebook wall. It was true... it was ME! Josh got home about 15 minutes later... (I'm still in shock mind you)... he walked in the door and said he had a surprise for me... I told him I had a surprise for him too.  He came into the living room and I showed him my Facebook page... his comment was "Shut Up... no way... you won?".  Immediately he called Kendra and I called my mom and dad.  The next day KUTV called and asked when I could pick it up.  I told them I wouldn't be able to get to Salt Lake for 3 weeks (still crazy busy at work and I can't take any time off now).  She called me back a little while later and said they were going to UPS it to me.  It was so nice of them to go that extra mile for me.  Josh was home when the delivery came.  He opened up the shipping box ... but was sweet enough to wait for me to get home so we could open it together. The next day Josh had all of my music and games downloaded ... I even have a NASCAR app.  What a fun "toy"... I love it!
