The newest family picture...

Josh and I wanted to throw Kendra a birthday party... then we got to thinking... let's throw a surprise party... she wouldn't think anything about us having a party for her.  Kendra's birthday is on October 14th.. it just happened to be on a Friday... (Logan High football game night) ~ Saturday was with her family... Sunday Josh had to work so we decided that Monday would work perfect.  That was normally the night she and Josh worked on homework.  So on Friday... I sent her a text and Papa and Grandma called her for the birthday wishes. Come Monday I left work early to get the balloons and get everything ready... at 5:15 the call came and she was on her way. We had my mom and dad park in the garage so she wouldn't see their car and get suspicious.  Josh was out messing with my car in the driveway when she arrived.  Mom ~ dad ~ Aunt Peggy and I stood in the hallway waiting for the front door to open... SURPRISE... and she was... mission accomplished!  Steak ~ baked potatoes ~ corn ~ mom and dads homemade rolls and Aunt Peggy brought the apple cider fresh from Zollinger's Fruit Farm (I have to say... it is so delicious!).  Cake ~ ice cream and games completed the night of fun.  Happy Birthday Kendra... I hope you had a wonderful birthday weekend!

Happy Birthday Daddy...

Dad modeling his new fishing hat...and his famous Elvis "lip"...
 Dad and Aunt Peggy
It's tradition for a new polo every birthday...
New games for the gamin' family...
This cake is perfect for my dad... and Elaine too...
We were teasing my mom that this was a "bass" fisherman and dad only fishes for rainbows... I tried to talk her into getting her fingernail polish so I could make it look more like a rainbow... she was having nothing to do with that... I couldn't let it rest so I got out my pink lip gloss and make a few swipes (if you look close you can see the pink on the fishes body). Earlier mom and dad went to the store to pick up a few things for the birthday dinner. Dad headed back to get his cake... he started back to meet mom when he noticed that his cake at Happy Birthday Elaine... so he turned around and went back and asked the girl to please change it to Blaine NOT Elaine. We had sub sandwiches and potato salad (Josh didn't get to pick aha..aha..) and Josh showed us his pictures he had taken on his trip to Texas... dad opened his gifts... we ate cake and it was time for Josh to go to work... it was a pretty short birthday celebration! I hope you know dad how much we love you... and how lucky I am that you are my daddy!

Happy Birthday To Me...

These beautiful flowers are from my awesome friend Char...
These beautiful flowers were a sweet surprise from Kendra...
Mickie didn't know which cake was my favorite...
so she got one of each... vanilla and chocolate!
Lowell singing Happy Birthday... (he did a little gig too!)
 New bedspread...
 Matching pillows...
My favorite flowers... pansies... and they are purple too...
 Me and my amazing cake...
My awesome Mom...
 The birthday girl...
 My beautiful Aunt Peggy...
 My daddy-0...
 My sweet someday daughter, Kendra...
My Babycakes...
 It looks amazing!

Work was met with lots of Happy Birthday wishes as well as emails, phone calls and texts from family and friends.  When I first arrived at work there was a beautiful vase of flowers along with a Coke and a sweet card from Kendra. The night before Josh made an excuse about he forgot to sign his time card so Shawn called him to get it signed (didn't sound like Josh at all) but since it was my birthday the next day I figured I wouldn't bug him too much about it... Kendra met him there and that was when she left the flowers for me so I would have them first thing in the morning. Mickie didn't know which kind of cake was my favorite so she bought both... Lowell sang and did a cute little tap dance for me and then Mickie and I cut the cake and we ended up having pink teeth from the frosting

Then it was off to dinner. Aunt Peggy invited all of us to go to The Coppermill for dinner to celebrate my birthday... (I know... I am a very lucky girl) then back to her house for treat time and games (our family favorite pastime). We played Uno and Catch Phrase... then had cake and ice cream.  My mom knows how much I love lilacs and pansies (especially the purple ones) so my cake was perfect.  The last "thing" I have in my house that was my "former life" was my bedspread... I found one that I really liked and showed Josh... who in turn with my mom and dad surprised me with it for my birthday... It's purple... shocker I know... but it looks so pretty with my furniture! It also has a valence for my windows too!  Thanks everyone for making this birthday such a special one!  I do love each and everyone of you!

Happy Birthday Aunt Peggy...

 The Birthday Dinner
 Dad and mom
 Josh and Kendra
 Dad with his matching earrings
 Josh... just being... Josh
 Oh Yoda....
Notice the peas in his mouth... 2 were later put into
this nose... what a kid!
Notice the squiggles in the upper right corner...
it looks like Aunt Peggy is 95
 My Aunt Peggy...isn't she pretty!
My Aunt Peggy had her hip replaced the first of March and we hadn't got together for family time since Valentines... so we thought we could throw Aunt Peggy a surprise party! She was surprised! What would a party be with the hats and confetti... Josh made his Chicken Alfredo a la Josh... along with his famous garlic bread! We played a new game called Catch Phrase and had a great evening! We all got a laugh at the squiggles on Aunt Peggy's cake... it looks like a "95".  We all know that's not true...she's only 39!
Happy Birthday Aunt Peggy.... We Love you!
