Vegas... Here I Come
Well its official... Josh and Payden (along with Payden's dad Mike) bought their tickets to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR race on Sunday! I admit... I'm jealous... after all it was me who took Payden to several of the races at Rocky Mountain Raceway... and helped to develop his love of racing... shouldn't I be going too? Maybe next year... (hint.. hint... honey!) They are pretty excited to be going and Josh promised to get a picture of him with Dale Jr... for his scrapbook!
Here's a few things they can do while at the track... for only $109 each they can "ride-along" in the Richard Petty car for 3 laps...just to get the feel of what it would really be like to drive 180 mph...(the Petty car can only go 160 mph) what a rush or they could attend the wedding of a couple from Logan who will be getting "hitched" in the "Neon Garage".
Josh has always been a Tony Stewart fan from our NASCAR beginnings back in 2000... I still say... Go...Dale... but this time... I will cheer for Tony too! Remember he drives the #14... Office Depot car not the Home Depot #20... ;-) Boogity... boogity... boogity!

Boogity... Boogity... Boogity
Let's go racin' boys!
The Daytona 500 is the "superbowl" of NASCAR.... yes us rednecks have our Superbowl at the first of the season... instead of the last. Five years ago (2004) Dale, Jr. won Daytona... I was hoping for a repeat. Not this year! I love Dale Jr... go #88 and I'm starting to warm up to Jeff (my Uncle Larry will be so excited to know that I have seen the light!) Well here is the first of 37 weekends of racing... Go Hendricks! Make sure to CRANK IT UP!

Josh is an Aggie!
January 5th was Josh's first day at Utah State University! He is planning on going out in Sports/Broadcast Journalism
Here are the "cons" from the sports guys at The Herald Journal:
* Too many weekends
* Too many late nights
* Too much traveling
Here are a few of the "pros"
* Front row seats to sporting events
* Sideline views of games
* Interviewing sports figures
* Get paid to travel (with the team)
* A job doing what you love
* Putting all those years of watching Sports Center (instead of cartoons) to good use!
Josh I think you have picked the perfect "field" for you! Congrats...and go Aggies!

So Good... So Good...
Neil Diamond's concert was awesome!
It was Josh's first non-country concert.
Neil sang a few of his new songs...
but I am a fan of the "old stuff".
There were 14 members of his band
including 3 girl back up singers.
It was most worth braving the weather
for this awesome concert!
(We were not allowed to take pictures... so this will have to do!

Temple Square
My mom and Aunt Peggy and I drove to Salt Lake to see
The Savior of the World and check out the lights at Temple Square.
It was a beautiful night... not too cold... and not too many people!
What a fun night!
