I have to laugh... after we were all done eating I realized we didn't get a picture of the heart shaped waffles... sausage... or my special Valentine juice. Next year!  After dinner we decided to play Cranium... we played last weekend and had fun... so we decided to play again this week.  Last week Josh and Kendra were the winners... this week Dad and I were the winners (at least we were in the brain when Josh had to leave and go to work) and since this is my blog... we were the winners!  We are so lucky to have each other and to enjoy being together! We will have to play it again soon!

Patience...

Things have been a little hectic at work this month. My department was downsized to 2.5 and long story short down to 2.  My employee gave her notice the end of December and I have been working alone from 8am (or earlier) to 5pm (or later) with no lunch hour. I hired a new girl and she started her training almost 2 weeks ago... and honestly I come home from work mentally exhausted every night.  Training was coming along slower than I expected... which made my patience (not that I have a lot to start with) come unraveled.  I sent Josh a text on Thursday night at 10pm and told him I was headed to bed and that I would make sure he was up at 7:30 to get ready to go to Jackson.  I usually don't go to bed until he's home which is between 11:30pm and 1:30 am depending on the night and what sports events they are waiting to get scores  for. On the nights that I have gone to bed... he likes to wake me up anyway and talk about his night when he gets home... so it's easier to stay up than get woken up... I'm not complaining because I know one day... I am going to miss not having him live here and having a full nights sleep ;-)   I could hear him come in my room and I started talking to him (I'm still half asleep) he told me he was leaving me a love note and I could read it in the morning.  Here is what his sweet note said....

Mother ~

You should just take my car tomorrow, ride in style... I think I'll see you before you go... if not... I love you.

The word of the day = PATIENCE

Heart/Josh

I have to laugh because I use the "..." all the time... and so does he.  He knows my car is about on it's last leg...we laugh when something else breaks and doesn't work... if we didn't laugh... we would be crying!  So I drove Smoke to work... and I have to admit... I can get used to those bum warmers...especially in this cold weather!  I went to work with great hopes of having more patience... and I did.  However, it didn't surprise me this morning when she came into the office and said... I Quit... it's too hard for me.  It's a blessing in disguise... I know it's for the best... so now it's back to the drawing board... and my still working 45 - 55 hours a week.  The worst thing is... I'm not getting any crafting done and it's making me cranky!

Thanks Josh for being such a good example to your mom and knowing just the right words to say... at just the right time! You are going to be an amazing husband and father... I couldn't be more proud of you! I love you son!

Jackson Hole Fireworks Show

Josh's Favorite Place for Grub in Jackson
 Snow King Ski Resort
The snow cat loaded with fireworks took the guys up the hill
to set up the show
Mike and Josh had to hang on to the back for dear life...
The snow cat headed back down the hill after dropping
Josh and Mike off to set up the fireworks
Views of Jackson from the hill
Jackson at dusk...  the tubing hill below
Mortars set up ... loaded with fireworks
Skiers coming down the hill with flares to begin the "show"

Josh and Mike went to  Jackson Hole to shoot the "show" after the International Pedigree Dogsled Race. It is a qualifying event for the big dogsled race that takes place in Alaska.  The snow cat took them up the hill at 5pm to get the fireworks all set up... then they had an hour to wait in the cold (2*) before the show began. Josh said he didn't even get to see the show.  Normally the shows are shot electronically with wiring as the pictures show from the  Orem Show  back in June. because they were lighting the fireworks with flares instead of electronically they would light the fuse with the flare and hurry and turn their heads away from the shells exploding.  They had hard hats and goggles... as a mom all I can say as it sound much more dangerous than normal! Josh loves it... he will be heading back up to Jackson in March for another show!

Happy Birthday Mom...

Health... Wealth... and Happiness!

What a beautiful cake!
"Clapping" out her candles...
Uncle Dallas taught us to do this years ago
The Gang's All Here!

Mom's birthday is on the 26th... but we decided that since all of us would be together on Christmas we would "celebrate" then.  Kendra was able to come down and join us after all of her family festivities. Aunt Peggy brought this beautiful cake for mom and Josh had received some Sparkling cider from a friend at work... so let the party begin! We even got out the good crystal... What an amazing family I have... I am so blessed! Happy Birthday Mom!

Christmas Day 2010...

Do we look like a Dallas Cowboy family to you?

Mom, dad and Aunt Peggy were able to come and spend the afternoon and evening with us...we started it off with dinner and then all fled to the basement to watch our beloved Cowboys take on the Cardinals... we thought this would be a win... it was a good game... right down to the end.  Josh, dad and I always wear our jerseys... so Josh pulled out his Marion Barber for Aunt Peggy and Dez Bryant for mom. Aunt Peggy was such a trooper.. she was cheering and getting into the game just like we were... she even took the heat when she (Marion) took off the helmet and cost us a huge penalty!  Thanks mom and Aunt Peggy for letting us watch our boys on Christmas! We thought it might be fun to take some pictures with our Cowboy attire!
