Happy Birthday...to me!

Check out my new guitar... and this one has a beautiful sound!
Josh has always gotten me a Boyd's Bear for my birthday...
(except for the 2 years on his mission)
he said he had to make up by giving me two this year...
she's a cutie!
Sweet looking cake... and it's purple too... who would have thought?

I admit it... I am one spoiled daughter/mother! Thanks for the most special Birthday/Mother's Day I could have asked for. It started on Friday when I was surprised with beautiful flowers at work... Sunday mom, Josh and I went to Sacrament meeting (I love to listen to those sweet primary kids singing to their moms... it just melts my heart!) Then back home to meet up with  my dad to have a nice birthday dinner and gifts along with cake and ice cream! Thanks you for making my days so special... I love you very much!

Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Josh, Payden and Mike headed off to the race Sunday morning... they checked out a few of the driver trailers and then headed to the stands... they had 2nd row seats (in NASCAR sitting close to the track is NOT a good thing) For one... you can't see the whole track and you get "marbles" flipped up on your face for the entire race (Josh didn't have sunglasses) However, you get that awesome sound of the engines at 900 RPM's... wow... The race had a record number of cautions... so the race didn't end until 6:30 and then they had to wait in the parking lot for over 2 hours to finally get out on the freeway to head home. They were home at 4:30... it was a lot of driving... but he had a blast! (Hey... next time...remember your mother...)

Vegas...Baby!

This is  a picture of Payden and Josh on the Stratosphere
The 3 guys walked the strip until 3:30am...

Vegas... Here I Come

Well its official... Josh and Payden (along with Payden's dad Mike) bought their tickets to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR race on Sunday! I admit... I'm jealous... after all it was me who took Payden to several of the races at Rocky Mountain Raceway... and helped to develop his love of racing... shouldn't I be going too? Maybe next year... (hint.. hint... honey!) They are pretty excited to be going and Josh promised to get a picture of him with Dale Jr... for his scrapbook!

Here's a few things they can do while at the track... for only $109 each they can "ride-along" in the Richard Petty car for 3 laps...just to get the feel of what it would really be like to drive 180 mph...(the Petty car can only go 160 mph) what a rush or they could attend the wedding of a couple from Logan who will be getting "hitched" in the "Neon Garage".

Josh has always been a Tony Stewart fan from our NASCAR beginnings back in 2000... I still say... Go...Dale... but this time... I will cheer for Tony too! Remember he drives the #14... Office Depot car not the Home Depot #20... ;-) Boogity... boogity... boogity!

Boogity... Boogity... Boogity

Let's go racin' boys!

The Daytona 500 is the "superbowl" of NASCAR.... yes us rednecks have our Superbowl at the first of the season... instead of the last. Five years ago (2004) Dale, Jr. won Daytona... I was hoping for a repeat. Not this year! I love Dale Jr... go #88 and I'm starting to warm up to Jeff (my Uncle Larry will be so excited to know that I have seen the light!) Well here is the first of 37 weekends of racing... Go Hendricks! Make sure to CRANK IT UP!

Josh is an Aggie!

January 5th was Josh's first day at Utah State University! He is planning on going out in Sports/Broadcast Journalism

Here are the "cons" from the sports guys at The Herald Journal:
* Too many weekends
* Too many late nights
* Too much traveling

Here are a few of the "pros"
* Front row seats to sporting events
* Sideline views of games
* Interviewing sports figures
* Get paid to travel (with the team)
* A job doing what you love
* Putting all those years of watching Sports Center (instead of cartoons) to good use!

Josh I think you have picked the perfect "field" for you! Congrats...and go Aggies!
